Paula About

Paula Dickerson

Hi there, I’m so glad you are here

My name is Paula, and all my life, I have had a strong connection with animals, particularly dogs.  Dogs are incredibly intelligent, loyal, and their positive attitude and compassion are infectious.  There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing my dogs happy and enjoying life. My oldest dog is Kai, who’s now 12.

Kai changed my life. I adopted Kai after he was surrendered to a dog training centre at 4 months old.  Kai gave me the courage and incentive to follow my passion for caring, training, and a better understanding of dog and animal behaviour.

I now have 3 dogs, including Kia, who all participate in various classes.

My 3 rescue dogs: Kai (Flatcoat Retriever X Cocker Spaniel, 12 yrs), Leo (Husky, 4 yrs), and Zen (Shiba Inu, 2 yrs), and I am a specialist in reactive, nervous & anxious dogs.

In 2013, after working for 30 years in the hairdressing and the service industry I decided to undertake further studies and completed a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services with The Delta Institute. The Delta Institute is the accrediting body for Positive Force Free, reward-based dog trainers.

Kai is a flat coat Retriever X Cocker Spaniel and is now 6 years old and a much-loved member of my family as well as my training partner.  Together we have undertaken a range of training activities and levels together, and he sometimes participates in classes, working with puppies, adolescent dogs, older dogs, shy, nervous and rescue dogs.

I provide training through Onlead Walk and Train classes and Onlead Private – In-Home consultations and training programs.
